Delaware Governor Signs High School Sports Concussion Bill

Delaware has become the 32 state to adopt a concussion law protecting high school student-athletes.
On Tuesday, Governor Jack Markell signed the into law a bill that sets regulations for all schools in the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association.
The new law stipulates that athletes, parents and coaches must be educated about the dangers of concussions each year. If an athlete is suspected of having a concussions, he or she must be removed from the game or practice. The athlete may not return to play or practice until a licensed health care professional examines and clears the athlete in subsequent days or weeks.
32 states, plus the District of Columbia now have concussions laws, while California, Maine, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Tennessee have legislation pending.

Gold Tops Blue in Delaware High School Football All-Star Game

It was a record-setting night for Lake Forest High School's Quadir Bryant on Saturday in the 56th annual Blue-Gold All-Star High School Football Game at the University of Delaware.
Bryant rushed for 240 yards in the Gold's 39-14 win over the Blue Stars. Bryant broke the game's rushing record of 204 yards by Wilmington's Charley Cox that stood since the inaugural game back in 1956.
It was the Gold team's first win since 2005.
